Cooke Upgrades to Laser Cutting

Cooke Industries have recently upgraded their material handling process with the purchaser of a fibre laser cutter to improve the quality and turn-around speed of their product offering.

To maintain its position as a market leader, Cooke is constantly looking at process improvements.  With this in mind, they recently looked to expand their capabilities with the addition of a fibre laser cutting system.  This system was needed to meet increased customer demand for high quality and quick turnaround.

After extensive research, Cooke settled on the SLTL Rapid G supplied by Nichol Industries of Melbourne, Australia.

Rapid-G is specifically designed to fulfil the varied needs of the HVAC Duct Fabrication Industry.  It is a perfect solution for industries that need speed and accuracy.  The Fibre Laser technology provides extensive productivity and speed for HVAC cutting operations.

“We have been very impressed with the support and assistance we have received from the supplier, Nichol Industries, and the manufacturer, SLTL.’ said Andrew Cooke, Managing Director, Cooke Industries.

The new Laser Cutter will be used in the fabrication of Air Handling Units, Ductwork, Attenuators, Heat Recovery Products, Acoustic Louvres, Blower & Exhaust Mufflers, Dampers, and Acoustic Doors to name a few.

The new Laser Cutting system was delivered and installed over the 2021 Christmas shutdown and is now further improving Cooke Industries’ capability and service levels.
